Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to www.ideate.legal and Ideate Legal and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”, unless otherwise noted, all references to Ideate Legal include www.ideate.legal and Ideate Legal. The Ideate Legal website has been created to provide information on transactional legal services of Ideate Legal. We developed this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, and disclose information, whether you are simply visiting our website or contacting us, as well as your rights and choices regarding such information. By using the Ideate Legal website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. 

If ‘Personal Information” in the Privacy Policy is being used, we mean about an individual that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to an individual. Personal information may also include sensitive information such as racial or ethnic origin or health information. As we don’t sell products via our website or platform, we do our best to mitigate as much information is required but of course, your privacy is very important to us. 

Collection of your Personal Information
In order to better provide you with products and services offered, Ideate Legal may collect personally identifiable information, such as your: 

  •  First and Last Name 

  •  E-mail Address 

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use our services and contact us via the “Contact Us” and sending us an email message. We will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.

Use of your Personal Information
Ideate Legal collects and uses your personal information to operate and deliver the services you have requested. In addition, Ideate Legal may also use your personally identifiable information to:

  • Inform you of other products or services available from Ideate Legal.

  • Understand and analyze how you use our website.

  • Respond to email messages that have been sent to us via ‘Contact Us’ page.

  • Prevent fraud.

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website.

Sharing Information with Third Parties
Ideate Legal does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. 

Ideate Legal may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis or to improve the customer experience. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Ideate Legal, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. Our website is powered by Squarespace.

Ideate Legal may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Ideate Legal or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Ideate Legal; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Ideate Legal, or the public. 

Automatically Collected Information
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Ideate Legal. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Ideate Legal website. 

Use of Cookies
The Ideate Legal website may use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

For example, if you personalize Ideate Legal pages, or register with Ideate Legal site or services, a cookie helps Ideate Legal to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. When you return to the same Ideate Legal website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Ideate Legal features that you customized.

If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Ideate Legal services or websites you visit. 

Right to Deletion
Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will: 

  • Delete your personal information from our records; and 

  • Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records. 

Please note that we may not be able to comply with requests to delete your personal information if it is necessary to: 

  • Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us; 

  • Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity; 

  • Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality; 

  • Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law; 

  • Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act; 

  • Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when our deletion of the information is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of such research, provided we have obtained your informed consent; 

  • Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us; 

  • Comply with an existing legal obligation; or 

  • Otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided the information. 

Children Under Thirteen
Ideate Legal does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website. 

Additional Disclosures for California Residents
These additional disclosures apply only to California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides additional rights to know, delete and opt out, and requires businesses collecting or disclosing personal information to provide notices and means to exercise rights. 

California Notice of Collection.
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information enumerated in the CCPA:

  • Identifiers, including name, address, email address, IP address.

  • For more information on information we collect, including the sources we receive information from, review the collection sections above. We collect and use these categories of personal information for the business purposes, including to provide and manage our website.

We do not sell any of your personal information to third parties for profit. The CCPA may classify our limited sharing with these contracted third parties as a “sale” of personal information. To the extent “sale” under the CCPA is interpreted to include advertising technology activities, we will comply with applicable law as to such activity. We disclose the following categories of personal information for commercial purposes: identifiers, internet activity. We use and partner with different types of entities to assist with our daily operations and to manage our website. 

Right to Know and Delete.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights to delete the personal information we have collected from you and know certain information about our data practices in the preceding 12 months. In particular, you have the right to request the following from us:

  • The categories of personal information we have collected about you.

  • The categories of sources from which the personal information was collected.

  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling the personal information.

  • The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request through and email us at info@ideate.legal. To request, please specify which right you are seeking to exercise and the scope of the request. We will request the following information: (i) your full name (ii) the region in which you are located at the time you are making your request, (iii) the data subject rights you wish to exercise. We may also require specific information from you to help us verify your identity and process your request.  If we are unable to verify your identity, we may deny your requests to know or delete.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale.
We do not sell any of your personal information to third parties for profit. You may submit a request to opt-out by emailing us at info@ideate.legal.

Authorized Agent.
You can designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. However, we will require written proof of the agent’s permission to do so and verify your identity directly.

Right to Non-Discrimination.
You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of any your rights.

Shine the Light.
Customers who are residents of California may request (i) a list of the categories of personal information disclosed by us to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes; and (ii) a list of the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information. To exercise a request, please write us at the email or postal address set out in “Contact Us” above and specify that you are making a “California Shine the Light” request. We may require additional information from you to allow us to verify your identity and are only required to respond to requests once during any calendar year.

Global Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) Rights – Additional Disclosures to EU Residents
These additional disclosures apply only to EU residents. 

Ideate Legal may collect and process EU residents’ Personal Information in compliance with applicable data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation, European Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

The types of Personal Information we collect are detailed in the above sections, namely How We Collect Information and How We Use Information. We do not use automated decision-making without human intervention, including profiling, in a way that produces legal effects concerning you or otherwise significantly affects you.

We rely on several different legal bases for collecting and processing your Personal Information, including: (i) for purposes of our potential communication on our services; (ii) as necessary to comply with a legal obligation (e.g., sending you information regarding changes to our policies and preventing and addressing fraud, breach of policies or terms, and threats or harm); (iii) consent (where you have provided consent as appropriate under applicable law, such as fulfilling any other business purpose at your direction, performing services requested by you, and (iv) as necessary for our legitimate interests. 

With respect to our legitimate interests, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of you that require protection of Personal Information, such legitimate interests include operating and managing our website, sending you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages, usage, and activities, conducting research, improving and customizing the website and our other websites, apps, marketing efforts, products and services, providing you advertising, and developing and sending you direct marketing, including advertisements and communications about our and other party products, offers, promotions, rewards, events, and services.

We retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which the information is collected. In any case, we will implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards in line with the applicable data protection laws to provide adequate protection to Personal Information transferred outside the EEA.

As an EU resident, you are entitled to the following:

  • The right to access. You have the right to request copies of your Personal Information.

  • The right to rectification. You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.

  • The right to erasure. You have the right to request that we erase your Personal Information, under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing. You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your Personal Information, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing. You have the right to object to our processing of your Personal Information, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability. You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

  • The right to withdraw consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your Personal Information at any time where we relied on your consent to process your Personal Information. Please note that withdrawal of your consent does not affect our use or processing of your Personal Information prior to your consent being withdrawn.

E-mail Communications 
From time to time, Ideate Legal may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. 

Changes to this Statement 
Ideate Legal reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our website, and/or by updating any privacy information. Your continued use of the website and/or Services available after such modifications will constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy; and (b) agreement to abide and be bound by that Policy.
